Did you ever come home from a party or dinner out with that “Oh good heavens, WHY did I eat all that?!” feeling? This tea is your friend. It relieves indigestion, nausea and gas and it even tastes good! It’s easy to make, too. You’ll need:
- 1/2 cup dried peppermint
- 1/2 cup dried spearmint
- 1 teaspoon ginger root
- 1 teaspoon fennel seed
Mix all the herbs together and store them in an airtight glass jar. To brew, put about a tablespoon of tea in a tea ball or strainer and steep in a cup of water for a minute or two. At home I use the loose tea, but if I’m traveling I’ll make up a few tea bags to take along.
In the past I grew my own peppermint and spearmint but since we moved last summer, the plants I brought with me are too small to provide many leaves. If you don’t have an herb shop nearby, you can order all of the ingredients (including tea bags) from Mountain Rose Herbs. (And if you click on the link and place an order, I’ll receive a small commission. Thank you!)
