The creeper quilt is finished! I’m pleased with how it turned out and, more important, the Boy loves it.
I made this up as I went along but thought I’d share my notes in case someone else would like to make one.
This makes a twin size quilt and uses four shades of green for the front plus black for the face. I used the same variegated fabric from the front of the quilt for the backing and binding but I included the measurements for the back and binding separately in case you want to use a different fabric.
The squares are 4-1/2″ and I cut 94 from each of the four green fabrics and 20 from the black. I just laid out the green squares in a random pattern and tried to keep the darkest green away from the black face squares so they would stand out. They squares are joined with 1/4″ seams then quilted on the diagonal in both directions.
I didn’t have a lot of fabric left over so my binding strips were cut to 2-1/2″ wide and sewn on the front side with a 1/2″ seam, then folded to the back and hand finished.
