I mentioned several weeks ago that I’d finished a knitting project, and then I forgot to post it. Oops! So here it is, my completed Building Blocks afghan. I started it a year and a half ago as part of a class and learned so much along the way.
I added a couple rows of single crochet around the outer edge to neaten it up and reinforce seams and I really like how it looks. This was my first attempt at seaming blocks and they were a little rough; the crochet hides a multitude of little mistakes.
If you can handle basic knit and purl stitches, this is a great project for expanding your skills. The blocks start off very basic and introduce lots of techniques and stitches. In addition to the written pattern, Michelle Hunter has a HUGE library of how-to videos on her website (KnitPurlHunter.com) that demonstrate all the techniques. I highly recommend it.
